My 20 year old leopard after her morning soak, towel dried and then immediately fed cactus pads, Arcadia optimized 52 and some left over greens. She is so cute.

Later today she will be lounging in the tortoise garden in the backyard!

I've had it little over a week now. Thriving very well. I'm very pleased. Did you notice the egg tooth? I was told six weeks old, buuuttt...I dunno.
That age sounds accurate to me. Some babies hang on to the egg tooth for two months and more.

How well healed is the umbilical scar where the yolk sac was attached?

It's healed. I looked up how long the tooth can hang around and saw various answers. He's just soooo tiny.

So you think it is less than six weeks old? That age looks just about right to me in the picture.

How much does it weigh?

1.08 ozs. Now I do think he's right aged. I wasn't sure at first, but now I'm sure he's about 8 weeks old. I say he not knowing the sex, lol.

At that size, most of us prefer measuring in grams as they are more "accurate". You will see a change faster in grams vs ounces. So if your scale can do them, I would weigh him in grams.

Yes, I do. And that picture was my Leopard in our Sulcata's basking area. I now have Zippy (Leopard) in his own enclosure.
Good call on separating them, they shouldn't be kept together. Combo bulbs is something that isn't recommended to tortoises anymore, though they used to be really popular. Nowadays, a separate UVB and heat bulb are recommended for many reasons.

You mentioned Arcadia Optimized 52. Do you folks have a general opinion about it? Looks good to me, but want to check with you all.

I like it a lot. Just takes the torts a bit of time to get use to it. You soak it and mix it with their favorite foods for a few weeks and they will like it. Kind of like your mom forcing you to eat Brussel sprouts back in the day. You eventually eat it.

I haven't personally tried it, but it seems to have great ingredients. Just like RandyTortoise said, it will probably take some getting used to as it isn't made to taste good like some Mazuri foods for example.

Yes my scale can switch between. I was planning to weigh him again this weekend. About every two weeks or so.

I didn't know that. All my research pointed to those bulbs. Bubby (sulcata) tried to bite little Zippy a few times, so I said nope and had my boyfriend build out Zippy's enclosure.

The lady we got Zippy from told us that keeping them together should be fine. Bubbs is particular. He's about 8 months now. Growing nicely.

I don't agree with her, because of three reasons: The tortoises are different species, they are different sizes and tortoises in general don't do well in pairs, only groups or alone.

I said we could try it and see what happens. Bubby has tried to bite Zippy a few times which is when I said nope to cohabitation. Lol. Now my little baby is happy. I added a little fake shrub lining to a corner of his enclosure. He likes to go hide under it.
