I noticed my two red ear sliders stuck to each other.

The female seems to be dragging the male around the enclosure.

Is this normal mating behavior or is there something wrong?

I am new to keeping water turtles
any info will be appreciated!

Thank You

Completely normal while mating.

By the way... Those are not red-ears! Those are Ornate Sliders Trachemys ornata They are native to the western coast of Mexico from the areas around Alcapulco to Mazatlan and even a little further north. They are great turtles, but you will normally find them a bit more aggressive than even red-ears!

@ZEROPILOT
Thank you my first reaction was to try and separate them. They eventually stopped after I let them be

Yes you know your turtles mark
I have two females a Belize and a Nicaraguan ornate the male is the Mexican.
The Belize is the biggest and the most outgoing the Nicaraguan is growing rather slow
