It's been a very rewarding tortoise year so far. I am down to my last clutch of Platynota and this little beauty just popped out today.

It is from my absolute favorite female. She only had a few babies this year, so I am hoping for more spectacular hatchlings from her in the future!

I can't wait to see how this one turns out.
This clutch was incubated for males.
It is tempting to incubate all of the clutches for female, but if you want to breed tortoises, males are necessary too. :)

Oh my gosh!! I gasped out loud when I saw that. The most exceptional markings I have ever seen.

It looks like an "eye spy."

Will you keep it? It would be so cool to see how it develops over time.

As if platynota weren't already amazing enough!

Hey Will, I have a deal for you.

You and Ken, on the beach in Daytona. Three rounds bare knuckled. He wants it too. lol

I will decide after if I really want to break down and keep it!.... Don't worry, I have a bunch of redfoots for second and third prize just incase.

lol

All kidding aside, thank you everyone for the compliments. You are right, every Burmese Star is a prize. This one is really something special. Only time will tell what it develops in to. It was hatched from my favorite female which happens to be my widest banded Platynota.

Noob here... So will the brown stay and incorporate into the adult pattern, or will it fade away?
