hi every one i live in hawaii and found a tortoise crossing the road 3 weeks ago its about 6-8 inches long I've done some research about things they should eat this is my first tortoise and my kids are super excited i built a pen outside its about 90 square feet mainly grass good coverage and sun exposure made her a little pool to lay in and drink out of I'm looking for ways to make it better or make it right for the new addition

Yes that's the one in the pic the kids named her Bailey I never thought of getting a tortoise but the whole family is really excited and enthusiastic about doing it right

So that's the enclosure it goes under house a little bit for a permanently dry shady spot her bath is around 3/4 of an inch deep temps in summer here are perfect for what you guys have been saying I read that they were grazers and like to find their food so I spread out the lettuce in here or his zone can't wait to find out the sex and any suggestions on improving the area

Since he can see through the wall, he may spend a lot of time trying to get through, but that is a fair bit of space for him, so I'd say you're good.
Half bury a few very large flower pots in there. They love to sleep inside because it makes them feel safe.

I was gonna build a couple wood caves to put in there for hiding but flower pots sound easy do you think I will need a heater for the winter gets down to around 50 degrees coldest in winter
