Are there any turtles that could be kept in a 10 gallon tank? I know that's pretty small but I have no idea how big some water turtles get, etc. I also have one that's probably about 20gallons, but long.

No there is not. Maybe a very new hatchling, but it would need a bigger tank in a very short time. That said, a ten gallon would be very hard to take care of, compared to a large one of proper size.

I was thinking so. I guess it will be a future commitment when I can have more room for a big tank. Would love to expand to aquatics!

Even with a big tank, I think they should also have a summer pond. Same as tortoises should not live their whole life indoors, neither should a turtle.

Will definitely be something I look into when I get my own house. I don't think my inlaws will be too fond of me making a mini pond in the backyard, (they're already not too fond of my tortoise's outdoor inclosure.) :p

Hi Tyanna, I'm not stalking you today... I swear! ;) I don't mean to be an advertisement for a corporate chain petstore, but I wanted to let you know that usually every summer "Petco" (not petsmart!) has a $1 a gallon tank sale. In other words: for every gallon the tank is, it only costs a dollar. I got a huge 60 gallon fish tank for my fish for only $60. The most expensive thing you'd buy would probably be the filter. And < MAN!>, I love Wellington's post about a turtle pond! That is some happy reptile living!

It's ok if you stalk me. ;) I enjoy it. LOL

I JUST missed the PetCo $1 gallon sale here, as my guppies won't stop reproducing (surprise, right?) and I need more than my 10 gallon soon. I will keep my eye open so that I can snag a big tank for my future turtle. ;)

Hey Tyanna. Petco in my area this weekend is advertising 1$ per gallon for their anniversary sale. Go to their website and if you sign up your email, they will give you 20% off your next purchase. I think you can get the offer on the tanks online too

You can also get a stock tank at tractor supply company. They are lighter than glass, so they're easier to move, & unbreakable.

What price would you put on those? I used to work at CNH, maybe I could pull some strings and they can find one for me.

Oh tractor supply is the store! No wonder why I was kinda confused! Wow that seems great, I'll look into that.
