It's about time I build a bigger place for my Sullys.
I've been dumpster diving for months at construction sites.
First I found a big pile cut off strips of Italian clay tiles.
Then some leftover sandstone tile.
Some strips of oak from a cabinet job.
A broken glass shelf.
Reclaimed some other glass from a cracked aquarium.
Various chunks of plywood.

Here's what I came up so far.

That's it so far. I should be done in a couple weeks.
I'll keep you posted.

I work on a lot of multimillion dollar beach houses in San Diego and South Orange County.
Say what you want about rich people and the one-percenters.
They definitely have the best trash.

Unfortunately now I have to start spending money and buying stuff.
I haven't been able to find all the lighting and heating stuff I need in the trash.
I also need to seal and waterproof the inside and buy some plex to finish the railing.

The construction itself is an awesome job. The fact that you recycled is a huge hit with me. Sure is also great when folks get great enclosures at a low money price, even if it means a bit more on the labor end. Building yourself just means more emotionally in the long run doesn't it? You must feel really good about this wonderful project.

That is some skill. I have never seen a tortoise table that I liked until this one. I do like you're hide idea.

Very Nice, You have some skill.

Do you mind if i ask for the dimensions, as i really like this and may build something similar (not as elaborate) to temporarily house a Hermanns tort.

What is the Glass floor in the hide for?

Thanks, Ryan

The dimensions are a little odd because I designed it around the materials I found.
The overall foot print is about 3-1/2 by 6 feet. 15 inches tall empty (12 inches after substrate.
The glass in the hide is for a substrate heater stuck to the bottom.
