Things that annoy Hermanns tortoise

What things would annoy my tortoise and make it run around like a nutter. Its about 10 months old and I'm not sure what's making him run around in such an irate fashion. Is he playing or am I annoying him??

I'm not sure if he's stressed of just a live wire....

Usually when tortoises 'run around,' it's not because they're annoyed or angry. It's because there's something wrong in his enclosure - it's too hot? it's too open? he's afraid the boogie man is going to get him? A tortoise that's comfortable in his enclosure seldom runs around frantic.

I'm not sure if he's stressed of just a live wire....

My tortoise only lets me handle him when he wants handling. Other wise he throws a little horsie fit. You will however get better info from older members on tortoise forum if there's something else wrong. They're all live wired.
