Last night torta a female 3 toed I rescued last November was digging another hole, she has dug two already since beginning of feb. I ended up sleeping and this morning saw her still smoothing it out so I left her alone, she finally walked away from the area and I went to see if she actually laid this time, I picked her up and def felt light, I dug around and she ended up laying 4 eggs, I put them in my incubator and hopefully in a little while they hatch. This was in a indoor tortoise table , she laid in the area I set up for laying, it was my first time having a box turtle lay indoors, I think they are fertile they should be.

They are three toed box turtle eggs, my incubator is just a styrofoam cooler a aquarium heater and a deli cup filled with perlite, I Moisten the perlite and turned the heater on, I adjusted the aquarium heater till the inside if the deli cup held at 84 degrees, I use a digits thermometer, the prob sits next to the eggs, it's reading 84.6 degrees and it dropped to 83.6 and I've seen it at 85.3 but most the time it's at 84. Hopefully they are fertile I'm just going to let them do it's thing

Exciting Kyle. If I find any eggs this year I might bring them in. I've never done that, but just left them outside on their own. I've gotten a few babies that way, but not too many. I might try your home made incubator too.

When I had mine all outdoors I would mark them and let them be as well, but some clutches I put in the incubator, this incubator I made is probably the most stable one I've made, probably cuz I'm using styrafoam helps keep it steady. Hopefully you get a few this season! It's really early still

Eggs are starting to chalk, that's a good sign they are fertile... Incubator also holding well, it dropped to 83.8 today and went to 84.8 degrees which Is not bad for a cheap incubator I built with a bunch of scraps laying around. Haha ill keep people updated and maybe there will be even better news to come :) !

Here is a picture of mama, she was a rescue I don't know how old she is, she looked like she had shell rot at one point it's healed now, she is very friendly and walks to me and watches me wen I'm around. Torta is her name she was named by a lady that had her for 6 years, so at least that old...

It's been 23 days since torta laid her eggs, so far the eggs are doing great all look fertile and yes it hurts waiting lol. Today tho she laid 4 more eggs, one of them has a slit in it so pretty sure it's not gunna make it the other 3 from what I can see look good, guess back to the waiting game.

I am excited for u. Yesterday I had my very first boxie hatch. I still have 2 other fertile eggs that I am waiting on. I also made an incubator out of a cooler. Not a Styrofoam one though. Last year I had 4 eggs that came so close to hatching but all died in the egg. I had those ones in a reptibator but I could not seem to keep the humidity up. The cooler works great and so much cheaper. Good luck!

How long did you cook them for? Mine are coming up on 30 days and it looks good so far, the first picture are of the first clutch 30 days, 2nd clutch is the second picture and only a few days old. For the 2nd clutch think the front two are fertile back ones not so much but never know!
