Hey everyone!

Just wanted to give an update and share some pics of Tilly boo.

She did have worms, the place I got her said she was 2yo.. other advice has placed her a lot younger.

She's had a new home, please provide any feedback on improvements etc.

Basking spot is at 34C cool end is between 20C and 24C.

Her UV is on 4 hours a day, basking lamp on from 7am till 5pm (was longer but she takes herself "off to bed" around 5pm).

Humidity is sitting at 75%. She has a soak daily which she seems to enjoy. She's very chilled in there. Pooping proper poops and NO WORMS visible now 🙌🏻 she eats well. Still boycotting the arcadia, optimum 52 pressed tort food - I persist on giving it to her though.

She's now 54g (gained 4g in 2 weeks). Comes out for a patrol and munch in the morning, basks the afternoon away, has her soak about 2:30pm. Has more munch, a patrol and bask till 5:30pm when she digs down for the night.

I don't know if she's looking a bit dry? If anyone can advise. Some of the photos were a few days ago, she's since in her new enclosure and think increased humidity is helping?

But hello and thank you for everyone's advice when I was concerned about Tilly, just want to share an update (plus I'm super proud of her and want to show her off!)

Tilly and Sam x

Thank you for your update!

Is that cypress mulch you are using as a substrate? The substrate looks a bit dry in the photos. How is the humidity now in the new enclosure? With the right humidity and daily soaks you should ensure that she isn't too dry.

As for the weight, now that the worms aren't a problem any more you should start seeing steady growth.

Thank you. Cococoir underneath then forest floor topped one side, beech chips the other. Humidity is 71% currently. I add water to the corners frequently. Do you think she looks dry in pics?

Yes, it's lovely to see her/him come on eating plenty and worm free poops 😄

*Update* removed the beech chips and now majority Cococoir with a bit of forest floor on one side.

She's still eating well, pooping properly with no worms and seems a lot more settled. She's also started gaining weight. Thank you for continued feedback 😊 she also caved and ate a bit of the optimised 52 tort food, hurrah!

I would remove the stone(s) from the water dish. It just gets in her way. If she was really little some smaller stones on the bottom would be helpful, but she's big enough now that the stones just take up space she could use to enjoy the sitting in the water.

Also, plain coco coir dries easily and makes a mess, so I usually cover mine with a layer of "fine orchid bark" (fir bark chips) just to keep the dust and tracking under control.

Ah lovely to have seen this update!

I’d try a get basking spot just a degree or two higher, it’s only a smidge cooler than recommended, and do you have a cover on your set up now for the humidity?🐢💚
