Tortoise and dark colors

Why is my tortoise attracted to brown things!!! I have noticed he seems completely uninterested in his outdoor enclosure in anything unless it’s brown! He stops for sticks dry leaves, dirt, etc! Not interested in flowers or anything bright! With that being said what can I feed that’s brown?? That he may like!

That's funny, cuz tortoises are usually attracted to bright colors like red, orange, white.
Mazuri tortoise pellets are brown. But, he should be fed as natural a duet as possible and soaked mazuri only a couple times a week.

I know!! I have read so much about tortoises living bright colors!!!! he loves brown!!!! LOL

Lucky you! My tortoise hates black color. I had to remove everything in black color because it drove him crazy......

Just u dont wanna feed to much black stuff coz they get picky. Once they go black they never go back… thats what i hear. Stick with greens , grasses, weeds and flowers !

Mine likes a reddish brown and will stop to smell any dry leaves or twigs, but usually doesn't proceed to eat them.
