tortoise shell dry

Hi everyone just need some advice or need to know what's up with my sulcata tortoises shell...OK been noticing tortoise shell looks dry. I don't if due to the weather and is normal just need some help to know why..it has been weird weather here on west Covina c.a one week really hot and next is cold and cloudy I don't if that affects it. I soak and clean with toothbrush about once a week..any advice guys thanks..DSC_0201.JPG

Hey there, try soaking daily vice weekly. He does look a little dry so the extra soaks might help improve. Good luck, keep us posted.

With mine it is 100% normal to "look" dry.
Even with the rains, a mister on a timer that pours rain twice a day and three wading pools!
I know that some owners apply certain oils to the shells of their torts. I don't.

OK no I rather not put any oils or things like that, just try to resolve it naturally
