I think its a eastern painted turtle but would like a 2nd opinion.
I was told its been this size (4 3/4" scl) for the last 3 years. It was kept in a pond with 5 big female sliders.

Well it's mostly Eastern painted turtle, Chrysemys picta picta, with a bit of Midland painted turtle, C.p.marginata, thrown in for good measure. :p The northern half of the range of Eastern painted turtles is all crosses. When the glaciers retreated away from the New England area, the first Painted turtles to colonize were Midlands. As the area warmed up Easterns migrated up the coast and interbred with the Midlands.

Well I went to my neighbors to look at her painted turtle and she is the same size and in a tank that is to small. So... im giving the neighbor my tank and this little turtle. My neighbor is a single mom who adopted 4 children who were born to an addict. The Turtle she has gives the kids hours of distraction which they need. Besides, I can go next door anytime I like and check on them!
