Give it the proper humidity and the proper care. Looks to have been kept very dry, not only because of the pyramiding but the look of the shell. Likely not the proper life.
Give her/him the proper housing, diet, humidity and should be fine.

Ok thank you for the input, just never seen such prominent rings around a base of a shell like that before. Very odd.

I know what you mean. It isn’t something you want to see. It is an indication of simply a poor habitat. The redfoots live in a super humid environment and this isn’t what happens. But it isn’t damaging to it (generally speaking). It will never completely get repaired but will look better and healthier in a. Year or two with proper humidity and diet.
Glad you have it!

Tortoise is pyramiding due to incorrect humidity, I’d strongly encourage passing these links on to your friend😊

This housing thread covers correct equipment(uvb, heating bulbs, lighting etc), correct levels, importance of a closed chamber for red foots(only way to maintain the humidity you need indoors), appropriately maintaining the humidity(they are prone to shell rot so this is important! No misters or humidifiers), safe substrates, there’s lots of visual examples for everything, a diet list and a really handy diet link to check out! If going with a greenhouse, the lower the ceiling height, whilst still allowing for recommended bulb height, the better! But I’ll add some more ideas below for closed chambers

This includes different closed chambers, some work better than others

This includes lots of inspiration for an adult set up both indoors and out! The indoor bit has some good ideas to tackle indoor space whilst still providing the needed roaming room! Check comments too, I’m always adding to it, anything indoors will need to be a closed chamber style

Lastly, this one here is good to go over and keep on hand, it’ll help you avoid the wrong bulbs, substrates, housing etc, I always encourage double checking purchases on the forum too before buying😊

Hope this helps!🐢💚

From the dozen or so Redfoots we have rescued, I can tell you that it is "normal" as far as anything imminent to worry about. It is clear by the pyramiding that this tort has been kept very dry. The damage is irreversible however you can further prevent Pyramiding by ensuring the tort is kept with proper humidity and soaking frequently as well.
