i have created an upper deck for the 2 torts we have. it has a ramp that i stuck rubber mat to and they can get up and down quite well.

however, as they sometimes slipped a bit i tacked on some beading at intervals all the way up and used Plastidip spray on rubber all the way up including on the beading.

what i hadnt thought and read was that Plastdip 'can be toxic to aquatic life with a long lasting effect'. I know they arent aquatic but it has now worried me.

will it be okay when it has fully cured? has anyone else used Plastdip?

please help asap.

thanks, marc

Sorry I have never used it. I am going to take a stab at saying since this is only being used on a dry ramp and only walked on, it should be ok. However for your own stress level, you may want to remove it.

Hi Marc, and welcome to the Forum!

I've seen where some folks place indoor/outdoor carpet on the ramp.

Hi Marc and warm welcome from Texas. How about cutting piece of car rubber mat to size you need? Or wood plank with something like popsicle sticks glued at intervals across the ramp, like a ladder? Just something to create traction for their feet. I'd also be concerned about keeping them from falling off the ramp. I'm always on the quest for finding suitable barrier for my ramps/cliffs. My babies love to climb

the ramp has steep sides so they cant get over the side. it has 3mm thick rubber mat already and they can get up there but due to sometimes slipping a bit i wanted to do something extra. i have attached wood beading at intervals similar to what you said with popsicles sticks (we call them ice lolly sticks : ) )
