Hay is no good for a baby. Grocery store greens are not good either unless you add something to them.

Growing your own is a great idea. I like the mixes from tortoisesupply.com and from groworganic.com. There are lots of places all around you to find good tortoise foods.

If you must use grocery store greens, favor mostly endive and escarole. Mix in the dandelion greens, cilantro, arugula, and other stuff for variety. Get some ZooMed Forest tortoise or grassland tortoise chow, soak a pellet or two, and mix it in with those greens. This will add fiber and variety. Mazuri is a good supplemental food too.

i already have some mazuri, gonna be growing in two boxes along with just potentially tossing in some seed in the enclosure in random spots. i think one box is gonna be mainly grasses and the other box will be more weeds/flowers. i have a redfoot aswell so im trying to find stuff they both can eat store bought wise so greens dont go to waste as hes small for right now. not compromising on anything at all, just trying to find some things that are good for both.

im also looking to put plants in both enclosures, so far ive heard pothos, wandering jew, and spider plants to put in to give it some clutter.
