My cousin who lives in Indian River Florida found a plant growing amongst some weeds.
It looked like a perfect, tiny pineapple.
That was weeks ago. And it still looks like a Pineapple.
What else COULD it be?
This yard has never had pineapples planted in it.
(We're still convinced it's some other type of weed or plant)

Sure looks like a pineapple. Could someone have thrown a pineapple top into the weeds?

I wonder if the tops are edible for torts. Especially if it is a pineapple which it certainly looks like.. It kinda reminds me of aloe. Fresh pineapple is good for bunnys now and then but what about the leaves🤔

That is a bromeliad. That is also the family that includes pineapples. That is the fruit portion of the bromeliad. Bromeliads only ever bear one fruit. There are many ornamental pineapple varieties that are grown just for their foliage.

Looks like a pineapple to me too, there's a picture of a similar sized one here
Maybe a large bird dropped it in his garden?

Yep, i agree as well. There are lots of “pineapple” types of bromeliads. Nice little plant for your garden or sunroom. 👍

This may answer you questions Cathie
It's probably not worth the effort of using it then after reading it. There's too many safe foods to choose from. Although I might try a leaf or two on Sapphire if I buy a fresh pineapple. He's really picky though so I'm not going to hold my breath. My bunny won't eat anything that's not Timothy hay or her Kaytees Timothy complete so... I gave up trying to get her to eat her fresh veggies a long time ago. It's interesting that she's had the healthiest digestive system of all my rabbits though.

I googled tiny pineapple and it is a plant. It's edible. Maybe it somehow escaped from someone throwing out a houseplant. Then a bird thought it looked pretty tasty and tried to carry it home😊. It was just a bit to big to eat so the birdie decided it wasn't worth the effort and tossed a gift to your friend 😂 I'd figure out how to plant it just out of curiosity.🙃
