I have this male tortoise from past 3 years. Recently i have found a new injury on his left leg. Though he is absolutely active and normal with his activities i am still worried about his injury! Please help with what ever first aid to be provided as i am unable to find a vet for him in India!

To me it looks like the tortoise had his leg extended and it was somehow wrenched against the shell, causing the skin to be rubbed off. Like maybe he was climbing and he suddenly fell before he could pull his leg in. A topical triple antibiotic ointment is all that's required...that and be sure to keep flies off it.

The leg looks very wet in the photo, I would try to dry the area first, then allow it to heal. I would be concerned about secondary infection if the animal is outside. I would quarantine the tort indoors in a clean environment. Is it kept outdoors?
