Hello! I'd like to know how cold it can get down to in the night for my 4 baby desert torts? I just built them a bigger enclosure, and had to move it to a part of the house that's not heated. It gets down to the low 60s (possibly lower) at night. I put out a space heater to keep it a little warmer. Anything else I should do?

How do you post the smiles?

Im not an expert, but if they were Sulcata's I would say no lower then 78-80 at night, but I keep Coopers at around 84 at night.

I have two basking areas that range from 90- 110 and my hides sit between 65 and 70. Check your humidity heat lamps can remove humidity if you aren't careful.

Do you have burrows available for them?
If not dont let it get below 75.

Yes 110 is kinda hot.

Arizona heat can get into the 110-120 range easily but this is when a Sonoran would be in a climate control cave so they really aren't subjected to that high if a temp. Try to keep the basking temp at 95-100.

But they also have multiple basking sites to allow the torts to choose what temp they want which allows for higher basking temps.

I do have a nice half log that they love climbing on:), and napping in:p. The basking spot is 95, the rest of it is 75-85.

I wouldn't let babies get below the 70s. High 70s with moisture or humidity.

I have sulcatas and 110 is the peak temperature. I have a dimable heat lamp that increases in heat throughout the day peaking at 110 and then back down to 80-90. It acts like the moving sun in the Sahara.

U need to set a heating pad under the enclosure so that they will be heated all night. Babies will get real sick if left w/o heat at night. I would set up ceramic heat emitters to maintain 90+ degrees at night. The coolest spot should be no lower than 80 degrees. Keep in mind that humidity dissipates with cold temps and a heated enclosure. You'll need to check humidity often if you leave them in the cold room. Personally, I would move them inside to warmer temps.
