I've looked everywhere, at every pet store in my town and there's 4. No coco coir in any of them.

Most pet stores carry it. It comes in a square, compressed brick and one brand name is Bed-A-Beast.

They call it different things. Like Yvonne said, Bed-A-Beast is one. Eco-Earth is another. Sad that 4 pet shops near you don't know this... But telling. This is why we say don't take advice from pet shops...

I prefer to buy it in bulk at garden centers. MUCH cheaper that way and its exactly the same stuff.

Thanks. Yeah, I asked them all and they didn't know what I was talking about, but thank you, now I know the brands and I can look myself! Thanks so much!!

or just get a bale of organic peat moss from the garden center. Cheaper and easier!

Try an aquaculture, hydroponic store, I can pick up a block that is packaged for under $15.00 makes between 15 to 17 gals of substrate depending if it is the chips. Also what I am getting is certified organic!
