- always question what you hear on EVERY redfoot "forum" / website you visit !!!
In most cases.
. the marbling doesn't stay as obvious very long...

Okay, calm down, he said he wasn't sure he trusted the source. :) Thanks for the clarification.

@GingerLove - I hope I made my point... I hope whoever it was that made such a foolish statement read that reply!

Does using ALL CAPS and bold print mean someone is getting excited Ginger? When I say "No comment" .. that means I'm irritated to the point that I don't respond - and the thought of the damage that such a statement could have on a new or inexperienced redfoot owner! Every does mean every.

Thanks again for the opportunity to clarify and qualify that reply... [ I don't respond like I used to ]

I guess I read caps as shouting or something. ;) I understand now that you were just making an important statement. Thanks for the explaining! :)

please tell us you do not keep them together...
No sir/mam, just use the bath tub for soaking. Better than the sink and they can run around in there, have two dif tanks for them. Soaking and when they are outside in the outdoor enclosure is the only time

FYI .. no one has explained it most likely - please understand...

All tortoises have their own "system-bugs" and of course sulcata is from Africa and redfoot is from South America. If you ever traveled outside the USA to a different country you most likely were given a shot to protect you from the different "system-bugs" of that country. Ever heard of anyone getting sick from drinking water in a different country?

If your sulcata or redfoot ever urinates or defecates while being soaked and the other one drinks the water .. what just happened? - it's called cross-contamination! It could be fatal to either or both - I trust I've made my point.

Cross contamination has cost me prize breeders / 1000's of $$$ - it was AIRBORNE

Thank you @THEELEG -- I'm the old-man of the forum - you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone other than Yvonne G who has been here as long.. look at join date...

This the best explanation of contamination yet, everyone should be able to relate to this.
