One clarification, our S. Florida winter dry season is similar as far as rainfall and overnight temps. In both S. Florida and the sulcatas native range, the winter months have low to no rainfall and lower overnight temps.
The difference is with daytime temps. Winter months in that region of Africa have even hotter daytime temps than their summer wet season. In S. Florida our hottest daytime temps come during the summer wet season, while the winter dry season has comfortable daytime temps in the 70-80 range.
In summary, our summers closely mimic each other in both rainfall and temps.
Our winters mimic each other in rainfall and overnight temps, but not daytime temps.

Amazing! I am shocked to see such a smooth shell. The last pic really shows how smooth they can be.
How do they make their burrows for so snuggly?

Two kids, One husband, One Hines57, One Leopard Tortoise, and a room at the sanitarium lol
