One clarification, our S. Florida winter dry season is similar as far as rainfall and overnight temps. In both S. Florida and the sulcatas native range, the winter months have low to no rainfall and lower overnight temps.
The difference is with daytime temps. Winter months in that region of Africa have even hotter daytime temps than their summer wet season. In S. Florida our hottest daytime temps come during the summer wet season, while the winter dry season has comfortable daytime temps in the 70-80 range.
In summary, our summers closely mimic each other in both rainfall and temps.
