Hi-

I have a baby hermann (approx. 23 grams) we've had for 3 weeks now.

we don't have access to fresh weeds in the winter months so we've relied on everything we can find at grocery stores.
we have tried the various veggies from the caresheet, and the only thing that gets touched are endives (chicory).
we started adding 5 mazuri tortoise diet LS pellets - soaked and mushed - to his food 3 times a week, and now that's all he eats. he will eat around the greens to get to the pellets. he absolutely loves them! we've also tried chopping the greens really small and mixing it in with the soaked pellets so he gets some fresh greens too.

should we be concerned if the mazuri pellets make up around 50% of his food intake in the winter months?

he's very active. soaks daily. poops regularly. here are some pictures!

Yes, he needs more greens then pellets. If you soak and smash the pellets and smear it all over the greens, he will have to eat the greens to get the pellets. As he eats the food better this way use less pellets and more greens until he is eating only his greens. Then add pellets back in only a couple times a week

Thanks! I found organic wheat grass at whole foods, so we've started adding that to the mix too, which seems to be helping.
