I have a 6 month old sulcata, and i keep it in a 2ft by 4ft tortoise table in my bedroom. my house is typically at 76 degrees during the day. i have a 25w uv light and a 25w fluorescent light that i keep on between 8am-6pm. at night my house reaches temperatures as low as 68 degrees. it's a large house, and expensive to heat. so it there any ways to keep the enclosure warmer? im afraid my tort will get sick from being too chilly..

I would get a 50w spot light for basking and you can get a che to be on 24/7

Sounds like you need a different bulb. Also what works well is putting some kind of cover over the top of the table except wherever the light is. This will help it to hold in the heat and your torts will still be able to breath. Good luck!

Thanks! I'm definitely going to invest in a higher watt bulb! And I could keep the light on 24/7 but I didn't want to keep my tortoise awake. I certainly do not like sleeping with the light on!

Try a ceramic heat emitter it can stay on 24/7 cuz it puts off no light :) or a red basking bulb :)

I like the ceramic heat emitters. No light. I believe even the night red or blue lights are unnatural. Just my opinion.:D
