I bought a ExoTerraCHE and read on the package that they should only be used with a wire cage clamp lamp. Then I looked at a fluker's hood lamp, don't know the exact name but they are black and sit on top of cages etc. On that kind it said can be used with CHE. so can I or can't I? I have a black type one at home, but bought a wire cage as well. which I can take back if I am ableto use the black hood I already have. Really didn't make a lot of sense to me, one says yes and one says no.... If I don't have to use the wire one, I would like to take it back

Yes you can. That's what most of us use. I don't like the cage, I want all the heat going down into the enclosure. Just always make sure it has a ceramic socket.

Great, thanks, I'll take the cage one back then.

I like to make my own holders, suspending them from the top of the enclosure. You can make them from materials at Lowe's/Home depot for ~$12. I usually put a wooden block behind them as a thermal insulator for the plexiglass they rest on.

I use a ceiling box to cover the tops, which is not shown in these instructions). They're blue and about a $1.50 each. Here's a what mine look like:
