I heard about this last night, it is so frustrating, these creatures are beautiful, made by God, and intended for care and love! Not to mentioned kidnapped from the WILD!!! Poor babies, they deserve so much better!

Who do you even sell a galapagos tortoise to? Cant think of many more distinctive or illegal to own animals around. Bonkers.

The article linked above states, "Ecuador's environment minister, Marcelo Mata, described the incident as a crime against the country's wild fauna and natural heritage. ... The sentence for smuggling animals from the Galápagos is one to three years in prison." I think Mata should be considering harsher punishments then.
