Hi guys! So I owned a Russian tortoise for many years, and I allowed my friend to watch him while I was at the beach and she tragically lost him (and her pets) in a house fire so I said I would never try again. Until recently. My mom had a friend who was giving this female away, who was being neglected. so I went to get her and turns out she had a mate. (So they said) I put them in my huge tortoise table (5x4) and all is well! I never see aggression, however the male has wounds on his legs that just keep getting worse, he had them when I got him so I took him to my exotics vet who said it was abrasion wounds. His shell doesn’t feel sharp anywhere, and they are too small to be bites (I think) so what the heck is happening?? I’ve had him a week, he’s getting a soak every 4-5 days rn because the vet says he looks a little dehydrated, and I’m putting neosporin on his wounds, they are up in the arm pit area on each leg. I’m about to just build another tortoise table to put him on and see if keeping him away from her might help them heal! I’m also planning on taking him back to the vet for further inspection :/ I just feel like they should’ve started healing, not more pop up.
