It looks like your little Gamera is actually a Russian tortoise . Were you told it was a Hermann's?This is our Gamera (named from Godzilla). Our vet put her about 4-5 years and is 1 lb 1oz or 16.5 grams. Weve had her about a year.

Wow! Are they all Herman's? They are very beautiful! These are my tortoises. They were my mother’s and when she passed away in July 20 I became their owners. The smallest, Buster was found walking along the road by my father. Couldn’t find owner and brought him home. That was in 1964. He doesn’t seem to grown much in that time. The two largest, Susan and Angela Angela arrived in family in 1968 when my school friend emigrated Susan and Lyra, back right were acquired when needed rejoining in 1970 Colin, back left, joined the clan a couple of days after mum passed A man came to her house wondering if he was hers I said I’d look after him Posted notice on Facebook, community website, vets, for microchip and also on their website, posters and called at every house in vicinity Nobody claimed him ? Did the man just want a good home He found one They have been brumating in garden, but with freezing temps in plastic box in greenhouse, Unheated I’ll put back when warms up next week View attachment 318220
Thanks! How interesting. Am curious how many others have noticed this. Mochi will sometimes even sit with her head to the wall on side of enclosure adjacent to wherever music may be coming from. Loving this about her!So sweet! My tort loves music too! Maybe its a hermann thing?
Love the name too!

62g. 9 months old.
They’re beautiful! Thanks for sharing a bit about them and the pics. Here's my 2 youngsters that hatched out here from my adult pair. On the left in the first pic Gene the male is the oldest is 19 months old and weighs 412 grams. On the right is Spot a female that is 16 months old and weighs 582 grams. Last fall I decided to keep Spot awake for the winter because of her smaller size, and she has passed Gene in size and weight much more than I expected. They both are about 5 inches in lenght.View attachment 321937In this pic Spot is on the left and Gene is on the right.View attachment 321938They are not usually this clean I cleaned them up just for these pictures today.
