Is it just me? Or does it look like most of the NIGERIAN scammers use two first names in their fake profiles?
(I'm just guessing that this person is in Nigeria out of past dealings)
Something like:
Edward George
Charles James
Michael Edward, etc.
I've been weeding out scammers on another group where I am a POSTING MODERATOR. And I'm definitely seeing a trend.

Most often "twins" which would be two tortoises in the same egg, usually connected to the same yolk sac, don't survive. I've had a few make it over the years, but more that didn't.

I actually used to run Trace programs to ping their IP, then send them a pic of the building they were in!

VERY effective but I got bored after a while....LOL



Have faith TinyTort, give people a chance to let you down before you convict them of letting you down. It reduces stress~LOL

Fingers crossed that it works out for you. I was very nervous before my first tort shipped to me, and it worked out fine; there'll be plenty of time to get into it afterwards if it does turn out to be a scam.

I will ask some obvious questions about sulcata's and their methods of raising them. I will try to get more info about them and post the warnings here. Plus I will call them out. Is there no possibility of Applepay refunding you? I know PayPal will make a refund. If applepay is letting them use their service. Then they have a responsibility also.

I also let them know I would be contacting the August GA Sherriff's office and they would be contacted because I was pressing charges for fraud and theft. I sent a snippet of the report I filed on the FTC site and plan to do more when I have time. I know I wont get my money back, but they will at least be looking over their shoulder for a while. And yes, phone number is in the attachments. Pardon my language in the one.

Call them anyway, most of these payment methods have a clause against the sale of animals. That they do not allow animal sales. It wouldn't hurt to try.
