A quick question about the shell

Hi everyone this is Athena, I got her from a pet store and noticed these scratches and marks on her shell is her shell okay ?

she looks fine to me(maybe her nails are a little long, nothing to worry about). a lot of russian torts are wild caught and put into the pet trade, the scratches could be from being transported.

Thank you :) just making sure all is good, how would I go about trimming her nails I would hate to go to short or over stress her in the process?

when i got my male russian he has really badly over grown nails but they just corrected them selfs. i think it is because i keep him outside on normal dirt they where worn down naturally. i don't know if you should trim them, hopefully a more experienced tort owner can answer that for you.

You can also place some strategically placed pieces of slate in the enclosure so when walking about the nails have a place to wear down some...
