RE: Betryl?

Baytril is a very common antibiotic. It is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone. It is very effective for respiratory tract infections in tortoises. However, it can be very caustic to tissues and should be used with caution. We had a bad reaction giving it to one of our Indian Stars and now use a newer antibiotic, Ceftazidime. It only is given every 72 hrs instead of daily like Baytril. Stars tolerate it much better.
