Bird Seed

I got some bird seed to plant in my new Leopard's enclosure! But do I plant it on the side with the UVB? Or the side with the UVB and the heat?

I would say plant it on the side without the constant heat....

I planted mine where the UVB is. They need that to grow. They don't really need UVB and heat over them.

Let me correct that a little. My UVB is heat. It's a MVB. However, if you have just a UVB light, that would be fine.

I actually plant it in it's own little trays and then put them in there.

I plant seeds all over in my enclosure, with and without heat. The plants grow more rapidly with heat, more slowly in the cooler spots. This is a good thing because it extends the range of time when the yummy things are ready to eat.

The plants don't really need the UVB to grow. They should do fine anywhere you have enough ambient light.

I think this is best, that way you can swap the trays out.
