I would like to hear from redfoot folks on this if possible. I plan on getting my baby cherryhead next month and am still debating on the number to get. My preference is to get one, but I keep seeing things about redfoots being better with another one around. Will my tort be okay if I get just one?

your tort will be just fine i only keep one and he's perfectly happy and active and he has more space to himself a lot will advise against 2 pairs are never a good idea cherry head males can be aggressive towards others if you want two torts thats cool i want another as well but make sure you can provide to different enclosures in case they need to be split up that way each can be the king/queen of there own area

Your redfoot would likely prefer to be alone but if you're going to get multiples I'd get 3 at the minimum. Pairs can either work or be disastrous. When you have >2 it can water down a bullying...sometimes.

Personally, I'd stick to one. Especially if this is your first tortoise.
