She said it was horrible. The woman at the checkout was rude and being a jerk.
I asked her, so you must have been at the self checkout!

I wish our temps would stay that high but they are supposed to drop again around Tuesday. I keep praying that maybe this cold snap can let up but only God willing. So we'll see. It's been really hard on everyone around here. Everybody is sick and the cold temperatures make it worse. Not to mention the extremely high heating bills. But I have a lot to be thankful for. We haven't lost electricity and easy heating has everything to do with that.

There was very thick ice on the bird baths this morning.
I've had a quiet day - just went shopping for a few essentials. It was nice not to have to be anywhere today.
My nephew who's living in Lancaster CA for a few years said that they and Palmdale? (the next town) were on the list for evacuation from the fires, but thankfully that changed so they're out of danger - for now. I'm willing it to rain over there.
We're almost half way through winter. It''s not getting dark quite so early now. It's been very gradual, but we have about half an hour more daylight since the equinox. Although I don't mind the dark evenings - it keeps the neighbours in.
I hope you're all having a good Friday and that the snow isn't causing too many problems for those of you who have it.

Today is our first day in weeks with above freezing temps and no frost!!
It's still cold but bright and the sun is trying to break through. It's a good day for a walk, but I've decided to paint the woodwork in my bathroom . There's not much of it so it won't take long. I've just got to locate my paintbrushes etc. - that may take longer than the actual painting
