I forgot it was pancake day today so didn't have any. Not that I make my own - I usually buy them ready-made and microwave them. They're ok with as little sugar and lemon but I have had occasions when I've overcooked them and ended up with something I could tile a roof with 😀. I miss my Mum's pancakes.
Have you had any pancake races or tossing the pancake competitions in your area today, Natrah?
Dear Lyn,

Not that I know of but there were probably some races somewhere and they might be mentioned in the local paper

Natrah

Here are some comparison photos of the three most common "pancakes" in Finland. There are also stinging nettle crepes and carrot crepes. View attachment 398601
The pannukakku looks like a Yorkshire pudding that's been tray baked rather than individually. My mother occasionally would make a Yorkshire pud that way and it was more spongey than crispy.

The same batter is used for Yorkshire and pancakes but they are cooked differently. Yorkshire puds are eaten with roast dinners. Traditionally with beef but popular with all meats these days where gravy is served. There are dessert versions of it too.

It's been pouring down here since lunchtime and extremely cold - down to 28F Tonight we have a snow warning but then hopefully it will brighten up tomorrow - for a day! Then the next band of rain arrives but with warmer temps. At least the reservoirs will be full.

We went from -0°f to 70 in a day or so. It was 70°f in the backyard today and I still had a pile of snow in the front yard 😁 the dang mailman was delivering the mail wearing shorts.🙃😜

The first picture looks like what you can do with plantains. You can fill them with anything you want.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying life.

A quiet night tonight. Jeff and Ray are fine....jeffs here and i texted with Ray a few days ago, he's doing great.

Kerry went to spend a week with her dad in Fla and I chose to disconnect for a week. The only tv i watched for a week was B+ space movies(2012-2018), pretty girls on you tube...no, not the fishfaced look....thats just nasty....and lots of Olympics. No news, no computer, no emails no stress. I filled my free time sitting in the hot tub burning one or playing VR flying games. I didn't do a single "responsible thing". LOL What a great week! Everyone today might want to do their own variation on that but I definitely recommend it!

We went on a Pa roadtrip today...left at 5am to go to a Bernina sewing machine shop. Wow....i had no idea! They had a midsized machine with a clear case. That thing had to have 2500 parts! Whew...kerrys only needed a 50 dollar servicing but by the time she got needles and bobbins etc....it was a bit more. Good thing we killed the time while they did the service by going to a fabric wholesaler....Mooks. Lol.....she was very organized and knew what she needed. I guess that was a blessing.
It's nice that shes home. It make my heart smile when i see her face...pretty cool stuff.

Good morning friends. Been chilly here low 40's night, high 50's day. Windy and rainy, have 3" of rain (7.75cm) so far, the last couple of days. Went to Ash Wednesday mass last night, and for some reason when I got in my truck . .. pancakes hit my brain. So this morn, I made me some for the next couple of days....Cook once, eat 4 times....
I got fed up with the LARGE obtrusive ad's on TFO, so I use Firefox, and added an Ad blocker, so, so far ad's are gone. I got a new Laptop 3 weeks ago and Dear Bill Gates, needs more $$$. They have incorporated Cloud software into windows 11 and you CANNOT remove it. It took me 2 hrs with a Cyber security friend to get rid of it from the start menu, and any associated links. They give you 5Gig storage . . but that is not squat. BUT they will be more than happy to sell you more (For Bill Gates). Anyway, still getting things squared away.
Jeff, glad to see your stress free, glad to hear Ray, Opo are hanging in there. Here's my breakfast for the next20260219_102425.jpgfew days....with REAL maple syrup . . .YUM!

I've been hunting for a post sewing machine forever it seems. Google is supposed to help you find one right 🧐 I won't be getting one soon with what I've found available new 😵‍💫 according to them. They were several thousand each and not what I want. You couldn't even run a knife for leather. Geesh 😊

Google is no longer an asset when shopping Ms Cathie. You will see the same 10 items over and over again.
Duck duck go isn't great for shopping but it will show you new options,

MG, Enjoyed those pancakes didn't you? You use oil, I like that. Congrats on the new puter and thanks for that info on W-11. I have been getting the signs suggesting it but like you, I'm a little more shy about handing them the keys to the kingdom so to speak. I don't need their "free" storage and no one else does either now that a 1-4TB drive is next to nothing~ @ 175 per TB. I use two SSD's internally and one 1.4TB exterior drive for long term storage. The only kicker is that if I want it accessible at all times, I have to have the 1.4 drive on so all my internal searches include it....cause I'm lazy that way. I don't ever need "them" but for data transfer.

I have read about so many "pay by month" stories featuring books, HP printers & car features. Imagine buying something like online books or a printer for your home or very high end auto features on that new car you just bought.....and be stuck paying monthly, every single month you think that you own it! LOL

Audiobooks requires you to maintain a subscription to read the books you thought you owned. Same with HP printers, need to subscribe or "your" machine will be bricked (always buy a Brother printer) and lastly the Sports bikes and cars like BMW and Porsche driving options which can only be unlocked with a rolling paid subscription!

Concert next Saturday so I cannot have this coldView attachment 398690
Just keep telling yourself that you can stop it in its tracks and go kick the bugs bum! You got this!

Speaking of music...sometimes every song on The Spectrum hits perfectly...

Kerry and watched a couple of Bucks duking it out. They were practicing...1 was big 8 point and the guy was a year younger.
It was 51 today yet the squirrels were all building new holly branch nests. I think they know we are supposed to get some snow and I think they like the green leaves...prob more comfortable.

Laying in 102f water after spending 3 hrs getting new son Lincs boat engine running earlier. A Yamaha 9.9.. Apparently it loved the 100octane fuel I dumped in each cylinder. It started but he had the carb incorrectly installed. It runs now...kinda cool to be able to help him. Now is chill time.

I love the dreys squirrels build. I wish I could do as beautiful with my basket weaving. In Florida they are hanging cradles where I lived.😊

I totally agree with doing a brother printer and anything they make like that. Mine is still going strong and it's years old. And yes I hate shopping online. Google inserts it's nonexpert opinions and throws wrong information to me every time. They also use a robot to edit my pictures which I hate also. However I'm pretty sure there's not a single store in town that carries a post sewing machine in my small town. I'll find one.🐢🐢🐢
