Well, @94F that whole robot thing will have to wait till whenever. I reassembled it then stared at it's 47lbs of awkwardness and decided, "no, tomorrow will be a better day". I can procrastinate with the best of you!
Stay cool today...

Good evening everyone!

How is the weather where you are?

MaNaAk
We were supposed to have a terrible day because of the heat allert. And well then we got a wonderful thunderstorm ⛈️ and the temperature dropped 20°. It's pretty nice now. I got Sapphire out early though so he got some sunshine before the storm blew in. I decided to bring him in early because the storm was a bit crazy and I didn't want to have to bring him inside if it was.😘😁

An Orioles diehard....good for you....

We didn't get much rain down here near Gibson island point, it sprinkled and got a little breezy but the temps only dropped 3-4F while on the phone with Kerry at 7:30 or so for 20 minutes. Looked like rain but I went to bed dreading it cause there's a skylight above my bed.....skylights in the bedroom seem like a good idea. That's it, just seems like one. LOL It did rain, but not much.

The only thing wrong with my robot mower was bad perimeter wire connections. Cleaned and reseated, the mower is doing it's thing before it gets hot out here today. The grass is wet but my backyard is field-like this year, so no loss if it beats it up a bit. I'm just happy my tech is "working within parameters"

I have a snake out in the garage too, I heard him under my welder. Lizards move, snakes slide....but I was getting the front mower power supply yesterday and barefoot so I didn't go searching, I just let him know I was there. Prob hiding from the heat! We have a lot of Black and Garter snakes here, he sounded good size so if a garter, prob an adult. The lizards are aplenty though and they usually disappear(eaten) when a snake is roaming.

it ain't pretty when it's wet, but it beats a push mower!

Black snakes and probably garters too are a lovely addition to your yard. I always seem to run across the black snakes literally and not once have I been bitten. They just turn around and look at me. Poor snakes.🥴 the only excuse I have is they are hard to see even when I was young..

I don't actually see the snakes often. I usually just notice the lizard population drop suddenly. I've posted pic of the big males last year, they are all gone....prob eaten. I used to get attached to them, now I realize that is a fruitless effort.

The guy I was feeding on my little deck in the vids is gone....and a new one has moved in so I'm feeding him now...

It's almost the end of July and the temperature went down to 59°f overnight. I couldn't believe it dropped that low after how high it was during the daytime today. We aren't getting the heat like others members here are. My heart goes out to you and I'm not praying to get a more normal summer. This has been a very cool summer and slow to start here. Maybe we'll have a late fall too, with a late Indian Summer.
Same in the UK Cathie - cool and wet - but it suits me and I'm just so glad we aren't having the same temps as the rest of Europe. Those wildfires on the Greek Islands are terrifying and I feel so sad for all people who live there but especially for the wildlife that has been lost, especially the tortoises who wouldn't stand a chance of surviving all that.:(

Good morning all, it's another grey, soggy day here, but all good. I hope everyone is well and not being too badly affected by any extreme weather in your corner.

I missed my TFO anniversary the last time I posed which was on 22nd July. I've now clocked up 9 years as a member and Lola and I have certainly enjoyed the benefits of that. Someone called me a 'UK expert' on another thread :D but I still consider myself very much a beginner - I've just learnt how to find my way around TFO and who the best people are to ask for help, so I can generally point people in the right direction for answers. Thank goodness for TFO and all it's members.

Lola has been outside most days except when it's been too wet, then he's happy to stay in his room, but he occasionally still has a little walk out in the rain to see it for himself.

I've not been up to anything exciting recently just been keeping on top of chores. Here we are in August already - some shops are already selling Xmas cards which I think is ridiculous, but they do it every year so it must work for them.

I hope you have a good Thursday and I'll see you later.
TTFN

Damn you do have a neighbor from hell.
When I was going through that problem with my neighbor. Her dog was crapping right up close to my fence. She would never pick it up and if the wind was blowing in the right direction. The stench was bad on our porch. Well when Opo scared her dog the dog wouldn't come in her backyard. So she started taking her dog in the front yard. Well her dog was coming over and crapping in our yard right by the culvert. She wasn't picking it up so Rose started picking it up and throwing it back in her yard. My neighbor must of have seen that on her security camera. Now she comes out with a glove and bag.
Wish I lived near you, I would make your neighbors miserable. 🤣
Thanks Ray. I'd love to next door to you Rose and Opo!
The other neighbours complain about them too, but unlike me don't speak up. If they backed me up I think it would ease off but as they don't I'm an easy target for them.

You are just the sort of chap anyone would welcome as a neighbour -we certainly would.!! If I started telling you about our neighbours, I could go on for ages, so all I will say is that they sold some land beside our house to have two very large and fancy houses built - it took 2 years to finish them - we live right on the edge of a small village-and then they persuaded the council to let them build a large dog kennels, then a cattery and now a pet crematorium -all in the field adjacent to our garden !!! And on the few occasions we have had contact with the family, they have been really sneery and rude. We are reluctant to move ourselves, as it would be such a major upheaval, and we are both getting older - I just hope they won't think of any other bright ideas to make money.
Angie
That is awful Angie, amazing how they got planning permission for all that and must be so disheartening for you. My neighbours have a dog that barks and howls for hours when they leave it (11 hours last Friday) but you must have that all and every day and night. I really hope its not as bad as it sounds for you. :(

I enjoyed the WHO night. I thought Roger's voice sounded much better when we saw them recently than it did in the concerts they showed on tv. Maybe he's been having voice training.🧑‍🎤

The kennels are being built now,and they claim to have special sound insulationn, but we expect the worst - the same with the cattery. The pet crematorium is working now, but the weather has been so windy and wet that it's hard to judge what it smells like. When they first moved in, several years ago, -well,before they moved in, actually, the first thing they did was install a security camera and a sign saying Beware of the dogs - this is on the fringe of a small village, and it immediately seemed like they were going to be unpleasant - and they certainly are !!!
Did you get a chance to listen to Stella Blue yet ? You need to listen to the original GD version to really appreciate it.
Angie
p.s. the neighbours got planning permission because the council hasn't prepared a North Devon plan yet, as they were supposed to do. so anything goes !!

Well I can't travel on the airline anymore because of my health. Rose loves to travel, she and her friends are going to Japan and Korea in October. I can have them plan a trip to your area. You will have 5 Filipinas to gang up on your neighbors. 🤣 They can be relentless 🤣

Holy geez, sounds like a concentration camp....yeah, I feel for you.

Got in early to work, Lou Rawls, Cornelius bros, Harold Melvin & the blue notes, Brynn Elliott, some AC/DC....eclectic mix.....rockin and rolling while Brandons taking a long w/e. The one I played over and over today though was Men @ Work 1983..."it's a mistake", go watch the vid, you'll see what I mean. Just a bit apropos today.....

Blue lights in two stores coming in at 4am....Wawa and a 7-11 NOT next to my office for a change. No tape though so hopefully no gunfire was exchanged....nuts.

Going to go to the park with Kerry to play with my modified toys this afternoon. Of course I woke like a little kid on Christmas eve at midnight. It's been like this my whole life. I think it's pretty cool to still be able to see through a child's eye but it can be embarrassing too! It always causes sleep deprivation.

Enjoy the day guys!
