Ok. Now his top shell is starting to get soft as well as his belly. This is very frustrating because I have no idea what to do. I just bought another mercury vapor lamp for the other side of his enclosure. Now he has 2. Ive been taking him outside for 20 minutes to an hour almost every day. He seemed like he was getting better but now I cant get him to eat again. Also very sluggish. I keep his enclosure very warm, I soak him every day, I feed him a wide variety of food and add calcium d3 every time. Im baffled. Help please!

Do you have any pictures of him currently and his enclosure?

Could be a kidney issue.
Sounds like he needs a vets help, that's my suggestion.

If it's shell is starting to soften, then it is in immediate need of a vet visit, it is most likely kidney related, very hard to overcome. It will most likely need liquid calcium and lots of sunshine. I will keep the little guy in my thoughts, but please see a herp vet ASAP.

Do you mind saying where you are at?

There may be someone on here who could recommend a good vet near you. We also have a vet list somewhere here on the forum.

Hi Djschantz:

(Did we ever learn your name?)

It sounds like its time to start with the liquid calcium orally, or maybe the vet can inject some calcium. Dr. Funk will know what to do.
