Help! (researching before buying)

Looking for general advice, I’ve chosen to look into getting a tortoise. First things first I need to research what breed would be best - I like in the UK so it can get pretty chilly. What breed would be best?

I have a big garden so outdoor space wouldn’t be a problem with regards to indoor space, that was going to be my next question!

Russians and Hermanns both need a minimum of 8x4 feet enclosure. The measurements can be different, but that is the minimum square footage that they need. In UK you will need an indoor enclosure for the days when the weather isn't good for reptiles to be outside.

One of them would be the best for you since they are the easiest to house and make happy in a colder climate with seasonal changes like in the UK.
