Little guy is settling in nicely. Eating like a pig and enjoying his soaks every other day. So far so good! :) I just have one question, his plastron is a little soft. Not soft like jelly per as but more like it's a little flexible. I've read that could be from where the egg sac was when he hatched out, any truth to that? His shell is solid and he gets plenty of UVB from his MVB. He's on cypress mulch with a humidity of about 60% and an ambient temp of 80-82 with a night drop to 76-78. He gets calcium powder twice weekly. Thanks!

Hi Ian:

While I DO remember your name and where you are, I DON'T remember (as I'm sure not many of us do) what kind of tortoise or how big. Can you refresh our memories?

Sounding great! Like Yvonne, I just can't place the species of tortoise you got. I blame my memory on old age. :p Plus we want pictures! :D

Sorry for the lateness everyone - was working tonight. Totally forgot to put the species of tort in the original post lol Anyways, he's a Redfoot Tortoise. Laura -- As soon as the weather clears up he'll be outside for a little bit each day soaking up rays on the balcony in a special container I've whipped up for him (we live in an apartment), otherwise he's under his MVB.
