Humid hide?

I was just rummaging through some of my critter equipment and found this. If I turn it over on it's side as shown in the first picture with the door removed could it function as a humid hide? Also I could and something around it so it's not see through you know for their "privacy"

I Mean /:l There isn't anything wrong with it? It's a very good idea in my opinion and it could work, but even though the "privacy" glass has never worked well with me. Whats my opinion?, do it if you want to! But I would myself get something bigger, and then put sphagnum moss inside and it would make the humidity perfect.

Well keep in mind these are going to be two inch tortoises using it lol it was just a thought. I've been brainstorming, this could prove dangerous to house-hold items and and extremely aggravating for my hubby

I use small Rubbermaid shoebox and storage type containers. I cut a doorway in the side about 1.5 times bigger than the tortoise that will be using it. I then spray the entire outside of the container (except the lid) flat black. Once the paint is dry I place it in the enclosure, on the bare bottom, push some substrate around it to hold it in place (usually a corner), put about an 1-1.5" of dampened sphagnum moss in it and sit the lid on loosely. I check it every few days, mix up the moss and spray the interior as needed.

It could probably work with some modification but the idea of a humid hide is to be able to retain some amount of moisture inside of it as well as the tortoise(s) being able to have easy access in and out of it. The critter carriers work well for their intended purpose. But for a humid hide most if not all the vent slots in the top will probably have to be covered well or it will not hold moisture well. The sides would need to be darkened and the opening for the tortoise(s) to enter and exit should be at or below substrate level.
