Hi all! I recently adopted a Greek Tortoise and I was hoping to get some help identifying what subspecies this is. Also, I will be upgrading to a larger tortoise table but I currently have him/her housed in this setup. I use Cyprus mulch, mvb 100w,100 degree basking, with cool side being around 80. Thanks in advance!

There aren't too many folks who can I.D. the different RUSSIAN tortoise sub species. Maybe @HermanniChris or @GBtortoises ??

But he's deff. NOT a Greek.

Your enclosure isn't big enough for a full grown Russian tortoise (male).

Sorry - I just re-read the post and see that you're planning to upgrade to a larger enclosure. Good Job!

Yes, I am building a 4' x 8' indoor enclosure for the winter and then in the warmer months I will have an outdoor enclosure that will be secured to protect against predators. Thank you for your help identifying that it is a Russian tortoise, do you think it is a male? Do you think the MVB is sufficient for the UVA/UVB, or should I add more lighting?

A very warm welcome to the forum, @Jordan311 . (I live in Jordan). ;) Please give your tort a daily soak in warm water, and make sure his enclosure is warm and humid enough. :)

Sorry I do not know what species your cute tort is. @Tom would you please help? Thanks. :D

Thank you for the welcome! :) Yvonne was very helpful and at least now I know it is a Russian tort, not a greek.
