Is this shell rot?

Hi everyone! My name is Joseph, and I just joined this forum after getting a baby Redfoot tortoise. I was giving him a soak today and inspecting his plastron and found some spots that looked kind of white. Can anyone tell me if that looks like a shell rot? Thank you!

Does it flake off with a fingernail?
It doesn't look like an issue to me.
Just keep an eye on it and watch if the area grows larger.
I'll bet it doesn't

It MIGHT be the beginnings of shell rot. Try to get your substrate to be moist underneath, but fairly dry on top. It won't hurt any to apply athlete foot cream to the shell even if it's not shell rot. Sort of a nip it in the bud approach.

Thanks for the confirmation! Here's what it looks like right now. I also bought plexiglass, which should come soon, because I'm having trouble keeping up the humidity without a cover.

I never knew that they sold athlete's foot cream in the dollar store... I'm glad to learn that I can save some money though

Haha yeah, I don't actually have a dollar store near my house, so I'll just grab a generic brand athlete's foot cream and antibiotic cream
