Large indoor enclosure Help. I have 3 adult leopards that will need to come indoors in a couple of months. I am thinking 15 by 15. What are ways of creating this ? What substrate is available for such a large area ?

That sounds like a good size. However, what are the sex of them? If you have two or three males, they will need their own enclosures. If you have one male and two females then one enclosure should be fine, just give several hides and a couple feeding and water stations. Also sight barriers will help too.
Peat moss is what I used for a large summer out door hide area. It's similar in texture to coconut coir but much cheaper. If you pack it down good it won't be as messy as if you don't.

I give males a separate enclosure. I converted a bedroom into enclosures. Each is about 40 square feet. I put down insulation and covered it with a floating floor for easy replacement. I provide each a heated humid night hide. For substrate I just use wood chips for some absorbstion on most of the floor. In the hide, I use coco coir For humidity. I have small areas with bark or coco coir I keep wet. The area is lined with plastic. This is where I put the basking light
Here are some pics of my males enclosures. The females is under construction.

A very warm welcome to the forum!

That seems a nice big enclosure. A good start.

Please post pics of your torts.

Why are you separating the male ? Never heard of doing that
I don't want the females stressed by them all winter. Outside they have a 50 foot by 25 + foot heavily planted enclosure They share in summer. Inside I can't provide a big enough space for them to get away.

I posted some pics on your other thread. I built an insulated box 6X4X2. The back half I elevated the floor about 2 inches, and installed Kane mats. The front half, I lined with plastic and put 2 inches of coco coir in. I keep it moist. The box also has a radiant heat panel on the ceiling.

I've always done half a shell length + 6" as a general rule of thumb for substrate and it has worked good enough for me. I think you're more than fine at 18".
