It’s your decision. I say leave your Russian’s together if they are working out and keep a very close eye on them. If you see any signs of aggression, then move them. It isn’t necessary to separate them without reason. Before I built my outdoor inclosure I had the same pair housed together for 6 years - indoors in a kids pool setup. I’m going to create a new thread to debate this topic.

I personally really wouldn’t leave them together. They’re currently in an enclosure too small for one, and no quarantine period was taken before adding the female. They could very well get sick from each other, and Russians are very well known for being scrappy. Even then, your tortoises might have looked fine, but I bet there was mental bullying going on that wasn’t visible.
