Thanks. It is a great place to live. The wintertime is mild and the humidity is rather high. I enjoy raising my tortoises here. I’ve updated my profile to reflect Portland, TX. We are on the Gulf coast of Texas.

I would as well. The parents of these tortoises live in the Houston and Dallas areas of Texas. Jay Russo and Ed Elkas bred them.

I’ve been to Oregon and it is a beautiful state.

This is something that always gets us in the UK. I used to go 35 mins to work and pass 4 counties...we always think your states are like our counties because they aren't different countries like with our "states". We forget Florida is the same size as the UK and that its a big deal to travel across several states!

That makes perfect sense to me. Our states might as well be different countries. I am planning to drive for 11 hours and still be in my home state of Texas. I’m driving from South Texas to West Texas. Well worth the drive.

I'd do it for a tortoise! If we did that we would be in the middle of the sea! Or in Switzerland
