Don't want to hijack this thread but I have a comment about The Nerd's old Ford Fiesta which is this: "OK, NOW I'm impressed"
I also have a soft spot for old little cars.
My Toyota Tercel is only 15 years old but it has over 218 K trouble free miles on it and the interior is like brand new. Of course, the fact that I am anal retentive about its care helps...you can see that when I am out in the field I cover the seats with towels as I often return to the car covered in mud or am soaking wet.

Likewise, I too have kept all the original stickers and I even have the Tercel brochure that I picked up at the dealership when I got it.
In the years I have owned this little car (often referred to as Carl's Clown Car because of my height) it has taken me herping from South Florida to Alabama, to Texas, to Kentucky on several occasions. To the Carolinas and Virginia many times. To the Apalachicola National Forest countless times, to the Florida Keys countless times and to all other points of interest in Florida too many times to count.

All the while I have got nearly 40 mpg.
The one and only drawback has been that I can't slide the seat back very far and on long trips this makes for some cramped legs.
I can't compare to Nerd's pristine little Ford though. That is just too cool.

My dad bought and had restored a '35 and a '36 ford phaeton. I used to "steal" the '35 when I was in high school and take it for spins along the highway in front of the old Playland in San Francisco. Too bad I don't have any pictures of it.

My husband and I had a '31 model 'A' pick-up for a few years when our kids were very small. No pictures of it either.

The "donor" car we bought new in '78. This one I found in '88 and drove it for about 50,000 miles and then parked it for about 5 years and then decided it was time to 'restore' it. Did all you have to do to keep it running during that time.. so it started up and I drove it to the body shop..
