We had a few snow days that have slowed us down, as well as a jumbo piece of buried wood.

It is coming along. Waiting for your next update.

We finally got some movement this weekend.

The start of the refill

The entire thing isn't dug yet. John hit roots, and his saw was dead.

Any ideas for this corner?

Thinking about bamboo fencing. I was already planning on using it inside the pen but it'll work for that gap. I will line the inside of the bricks bc they aren't flush and fill the gap too.

(The top is more level than it looks in that picture)

So I am understanding there will be a row of bamboo on the entire thing?

I hate to say it now, when you've so much work already done, but those bricks are being put in backwards. You're supposed to have the rough side facing out. I suppose you put them that way so the tortoise wouldn't have footholds for climbing?

Never mind....I just realized that your picture IS showing the outside of the pen, not the inside.

Need more bricks. If I move, which I plan to one day, these bricks are coming with me. This project has been a little expensive. $1.80 a brick times a bunch. I've used 100 red ones and about 21 grey ones so far. Plus the cinder blocks, hardware cloth (that I actually bought a while ago) and bamboo fencing.

I'm confused is this two separate pens? Looked like the cloth was on wrong side and then the pic next to the house the outside is facing the house.

The bamboo isn't going to work. I need a new plan. I had it about an inch in the ground.

This is after one light rain.

I'm open for new ideas.

This is one enclosure. Nothing will be by the house. The meter is there so I didn't want to put the meter inside the pen. I left a walkway for the gas man to get to the meter without walking through the pen.

If nothing in there then I would turn the bricks the other way. Nice side out.
