93° today no clouds. Doing the wet towel thing again. Next week it looks like the rains might be starting.

10:45pm finally got a good hard rain. Opo decided to go out to get wet and eat grass. He is becoming a night owl like me.🤣
Opo decided to sleep outside last night. Made for a sleepless night for me. Which is pretty much normal for me anyway.
He slept behind the shed. Where I don't have a security camera. So I kept going outside to check on him.

I would have kicked his butt when he DID come inside.
Now… I know this sounds crazy…
But you know what makes my girl move like she’s being chased by the po-po???….
If you get a black garbage bag…
Open it up and …crinkle the sh** out of it.!
Do this till you see him come out of hiding at least…
Do not ask me how or WHY this makes my Sulcata tortoise move so quickly but it does!
Try it just once while Opo is sitting relaxing quietly. You will see him move like a rocket as soon as he hears a plastic bag being shuffled around.

So your telling me that Opo can hear, there are many that say Tortoise can't hear. My Sammy hears every noise and will react.
Zola can certainly hear very well - even whispers when we are trying not to attract his attention !

I guess Opo notices my voice vibrations. I can call him from across the yard. He will stop walking away from me. A few more calls and he turns towards me. When he sees me he will come to me. If he is walking out of the porch samething happens. Even if I call him on the security camera he will stop walking. So I don't think they hear like humans. But pick up familiar vibrations.
Best 20 bucks I spent on FB marketplace. Opo loves his new cool spot. When Rose placed it there. Opo went right in.
I can hear him saying . . . Ah'hh, clear over in Cali...
Not at all, I am thinking because it is up off the ground. I guess I should check and make sure the plant isn't poisonous.
Well snake plants are not poisonous. 😁
