Outdoor enclosure & herbicide

General question, if one wants to set up an outdoor enclosure how long should they wait after the last round of herbicide, pesticide or lawn fertilizer was applied.

For obvious reasons once the area is home to a tortoise you wouldn’t continue to apply those chemicals.

Last time I had my yard done I waited about a year. Then again, I was using the time-release stuff too. Not sure what all you're using.

This was more of a hypothetical.

We're hoping to buy some property in the next 18-24 months. When we do I'm going to treat the property as if it's been fertilized, sprayed, etc.... going to quarantine the yard so to speak.
