Hi :D

I have some pumpkin seeds stored away in the cupboard and I was wondering if I could give one or two my hermann tortoise?

How big are they? Pumpkin seeds are very bulky, so they could choke. Also, I remember reading somewhere about how large seeds like that aren't very good for them?? Pumpkin (the fruit itself) is a yummy treat, and can be served cooked or raw :D

I don't think any tortoise should be fed actual full seeds :) can you grow them? It's pretty easy.

I feed whole pumpkins to my tortoises, they eat the whole thing, seeds and all. I don't know that I'd offer plain dry seeds to a smaller tortoise...

For my small tortoises, I take the whole thing (skin, meat, seeds) and use a blender to make it into a safe easy to eat mash.

Not sure if I would use those old seeds, but really can't recall anything saying you can't.

I do with the seeds what Jacqui does, the rest I cut into smaller pieces they can bite off of. Mine are 3-5 years old though.
