Hey! I’m thinking of having some Egyptian torts! This is a 8ft long by 5ft wide table with a layer of cactus substrate bellow a clay and coco fiber bed.
These are just grow light ,
But how many heat lamps would you add?
And where ???
How many torts can fit here ?
The walls will be higher once wood prices go down 🤣. Any other improvements?
This was originally just my fairy garden but now I want it to come alive.

Hi, and welcome!

Egyptian tortoises are usually kept on crushed oyster shell substrate. Is that a 'lip' on the vertical walls? That's a good feature to keep them from climbing out. Other than that, because I'm not familiar with the care and housing (except for the substrate), I can't really say if that's satisfactory for an egyptian or not. Let's give a shout-out to @G-stars and @dovelett15 . I think they keep Egyptians.

This was very helpful thank you! The Garden state tortious guy was on Kamp Kennan . That’s what inspired me to convert this into a tortious table! So this is great.
Garden State is a reputable place. I can't say the same for Kamp Kennan so be careful with following what he says or does.
